EU Regulation of Your Substance to Improve and Protect Humans and the Environment
With the increasingly stringent regulatory controls on chemical s, getting your substance regulated for import and use in the EU takes expert help to navigate the strict procedures.
LKC has worked with regulators and European organisations, such as ECHA and Cefic, as independent consultants to global chemical companies for 20 years. That experience gives us the insider knowledge and expertise to assist your organisation into the EU.
Needing to achieve compliance with REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 for your substances, LKC has the technical knowledge to ensure you do that. We can carry out GLP and GEP study monitoring according to the OECD test guidelines for chemical safety.
What is REACH?
REACH is an EU regulation adopted to improve the protection of human health and the environment from chemical risks while enhancing the competitiveness of the EU chemicals industry. It promotes alternative methods for hazard assessment of substances to reduce testing on animals. To comply with the regulation, you must identify risks to your substances and demonstrate how they can be safely used, communicating the risk management measures to downstream users.
Our expert team assesses your data dossiers, ensures their accuracy, carries out data gap analysis and risk assessments, and submits your information to the regulators. We either liaise on your behalf or advise you on how to successfully get your chemicals accepted for use under EU regulations.
LKC’s specialist consultancy solutions include:
- Preparation of IUCLID dossiers including robust study summary (RSS) writing, literature searches, Klimisch score assignment, DNEL and PNEC calculations, PBT and vPvB assessment, classification and labelling
- Data gap analysis including testing proposals, technical expert statements, read-across potential, data waiver preparation and (Q)SAR approaches
- Represent clients in SIEFs, act as Only Representative (OR) and support EU and non-EU manufacturers and importers
