A new voice on European regulatory issues
September 2024 saw the founding of the European Association of Regulatory Consultancies and Contract Research Laboratories; EACL.
EACL is recognised as a registered stakeholder allowing its members to actively contribute to discussions by the European Union’s regulatory bodies, to work in collaboration towards a functional regulatory framework positively serving society and the environment while enabling sustainable innovation in the agricultural science sector. EACL will represent the collective interests of its members in scientific and regulatory matters managed by the Safety Authorities in Europe.
The how is via discussion and analysis of the impact of legislation and changes thereof on the operations of its members using a work programme which involves:
- outreach to authorities such as the European Commission, ECHA, EFSA & EMA) and other stakeholders e.g. Crop Life, CEFIC
- establishing EFSA and ECHA Working Groups for engagement during 2024 and 2025
Initial membership from the start has seen 30 companies join, including LKC, with more on the way.
Manufacturers and producers of crop protection products can benefit from working with EACL members who are at the forefront of regulatory developments and provide relevant technical and regulatory experience from a unique perspective early in the product registration process.
